[poll id="2"]

What gives you a headache when it comes down to finding images for your blog posts? I’m trying to figure out how to approach this topic, and the best way is to ask you about your difficulties.

Feel free to share more in-depth stories in the comments section and ask questions if you have any about finding images for your posts. I’ll be more than happy to answer them and help you find the right resources to do it.

Content is everything, but adding the right images to complement your post will increase engagement and increase your traffic.

The poll closes on January 30th. Thanks for your vote.

I shoot my own, so “finding the right thing to make as an image at 4am when I can’t go anywhere” is my hardest challenge.

I don’t find it hard. I have a blog plugin (Zemanta) that searches for images automagically and pops them into my post.

hmmm interesting I will have to look into the plugin more. It seems limiting to only Flickr, Wikipedia, and Getty. They also seem sketchy about copyright, though they seem to say they care about it. I noticed one image in demo said “Could qualify for Fair Use”, I would not mess with “could.” I’ll do more digging into it though =)

        Thanks.

          Copyright.

Woe betide you ever get that wrong!

Yes, copyright is important. Most of the time, it takes a simple email to ensure you don’t get in trouble. Contacting copyright holder and asking for permission. Most won’t mind as long as credit is given.
